Once children have mastered the sight words in Series 1, the next series gives them additional practice, but in a new sequence of text and in a slightly different format.
Text is varied so the child must look at the word and not just memorize a pattern. Simple pictures, many drawn by children, keep the child’s focus on the text.
The books are carefully designed to provide appropriate return sweet, finger spacing and illustrations of non-sight words.
The second series introduces new sight words in the same cumulative way as Series 1.
